Redesigning marks of survival into symbols of inspiration
Turning radiation markers into
a symbol of hope and optimism
It’s common for cancer patients to receive a tattoo during external beam radiation therapy. The dotted mark helps radiation technicians more precisely aim treatments. It’s true: these markers are part of potentially life-saving measures. But for some survivors, it can also be a painful reminder of the battle with their illness.

The Mark of Life connects cancer survivors with some of the most prominent tattoo artists in the industry to create beautiful, triumphant designs that incorporate the survivor’s radiation therapy marker in them.
